"I'M NOT GOING TO ARGUE WITH YOU..."
"I'm not going to argue with you..." and then, the narc walks away. Or leaves the house. Goes into another room. When you're around them they don't respond. You're getting the silent treatment. It's an emotional ambush.
By now you've had enough experience with the narc to know that this is the rot they have inside. They will never love you the way you want to be loved. They will never be stable... all "changes" are temporary. The silent treatment is just another way for the narc to punish you for daring to speak about some abusive crap, or a lie, etc.
To a narc, you have to be totally under their control like a robot. I'm not a normal, loving person like you are, because you are weak for me.
The narc is "teaching you a lesson" so you never question them again, or if you do, you know you'll never get any answers or cooperation. The narc wants you to beg them for crumbs of attention.
This is the narcissist getting "passive-aggressive", which is an indirect form of abuse... it drives you crazy. That's the whole point of doing it. You want resolution, of course, and the narc won't participate. The narc clams up, goes into another part of the house, or leaves. It's an impossible situation and the narc knows it.
Using the silent treatment means the narc has control of the situation and you are powerless since you can't make them talk about anything, so BINGO, the narc wins. Power and control are huge to the narcissist and the silent treatment is just a NarcTactic to dominate and control you.
The situation becomes intolerable, so as a price of talking again, the narcissist expects YOU to apologize to them for what the narc did to you to cause the conflict in the first place.
The silent treatment is psychological aggression and is an excruciating form of abuse. It's a cruel and cowardly way of making you feel useless and unloved. Alone. All because of a grown-ass person acting childish.
